Where We Started
Recognizing a need in our community, volunteers in St. Louis joined the national network then known as "Christmas in April" in the early 1990s. Christmas in April originated in Midland, Texas, in 1973 and the concept of neighbors helping neighbors spread across the country. Our name change to Rebuilding Together St. Louis in 2003 affirmed our commitment to helping people live more safely in their homes.
Since our first volunteer repair event in 1993, we have improved safety, health and independence for more than 4,000 homeowners in St. Louis.
Making Every Effort Count
Rebuilding Together St. Louis relies on community generosity, grants, sponsors and volunteers to fulfill our mission. As such, we strive to be transparent in our operations and financial management.
