Volunteer opportunities
Here are the current volunteer opportunities available at Rebuilding Together St. Louis.
Home Repair Volunteer
Rebuilding Together St. Louis provides opportunities for volunteers with home repair skills to support our work year-round, by working alongside our staff in making safety repairs and modifications to homes. We seek volunteers who are interested in making an ongoing commitment, rather than participating in a one-time project, as these roles require orientation, training and skill assessment. Volunteers provide their own transportation, and projects are coordinated by one of our staff members.
Rebuilding Day Volunteer
Most Rebuilding Day volunteer spots are filled by teams from our corporate sponsors. However, we always have needs for skilled volunteers to help with specific projects. Volunteers are needed for one full day in the spring and one in the fall – often on a Saturday.
House Captain Volunteer
The House Captain volunteer position is critical to the success of every Rebuilding Day project, and requires construction, home repair and/or project management skills. The commitment starts about 6 to 8 weeks prior to a Rebuilding Day and involves planning, meeting with the homeowner, connecting with sponsors’ volunteer coordinators, estimating and purchasing supplies, and managing all projects on Rebuilding Day. Training and shadowing opportunities will be provided.
Office Volunteer
Office volunteers help with tasks such as mailings, returning phone calls to potential homeowner applicants, organizing supplies and much more. These opportunities are on-site at our offices in Webster Groves, and we ask for a regular commitment of at least two four-hour shifts per month.
Young Friends of Rebuilding Together
The Young Friends group supports Rebuilding Together by raising funds and awareness! Check out their page for more information.
